Case Description: The Qingdao Ruankong Hotel, completed in 2009, was an interior renovation project for an existing hotel. Our company’s engineering department undertook the wall‑finishing work. As a high‑end, owner‑occupied hotel operated by a publicly listed company, the design process faced significant challenges in selecting appropriate wall materials from the outset. Balancing construction schedule with the need to ensure uninterrupted guest operations, traditional wall materials—often plagued by strong odors and air pollution—posed considerable difficulties, requiring careful deliberation in material selection.
The introduction of our company’s diatomaceous earth wall coating has precisely addressed this challenge for designers, eliminating construction‑related pollution. Moreover, by incorporating this material, the hotel has elevated its interior design to a higher level of sophistication. The superior malleability and expressive potential of diatomaceous earth wall coatings were fully showcased in this project.
