Case description: The National Plasmid Center (Shandong) Energy-Saving Ecological Demonstration Building aims to provide a practical platform and research infrastructure for the future development of intelligent, energy-efficient, eco-friendly, and integrated architectural systems in China. It incorporates cutting-edge technologies and a variety of innovative ecological materials; the interior walls are finished with chuanyi diatomaceous earth wall coating. The building’s intelligent monitoring and detection system collects data, performs software-based calculations, and conducts energy-efficiency analyses. Quantitative assessments reveal that the concentrations of formaldehyde and other volatile indoor air pollutants in this demonstration building are far below national standards. Meanwhile, tests indicate that parameters such as air humidity and negative ion levels have reached optimal comfort levels for residential environments. As the sole functional interior wall finishing material selected for this demonstration project, chuanyi diatomaceous earth wall coating has provided a more tangible demonstration of its air-purifying, temperature-regulating, and negative-ion-releasing properties.
