(China Ecological and Environmental Building Materials Network) At 9:00 a.m. on October 19, the 7th Symposium on the Development of the Ecological and Healthy Wall Materials Industry for 2019 opened at the Sunflower Hotel in Beijing. The event was co‑hosted by the Ecological and Environmental Building Materials Branch of the China Building Materials Federation, the Zhongguancun Green Ring Diatomaceous Earth New Materials Industry Technology Innovation Alliance, and the Housing Construction Materials Branch of the Chinese Silicate Society. It was organized by the China Building Materials Academy Co., Ltd. and WACKER Chemical (China) Co., Ltd., with strong support from the China Building Materials Federation, the Design Committee of the China Building Decoration Association, the China Interior Decoration Association, the State Key Laboratory of Green Building Materials, and the National Technical Committee for Environmentally Friendly and Health‑Beneficial Building Materials. Relevant officials, academic experts, and frontline enterprise representatives from across China’s ecological and healthy wall materials sector attended the symposium, which was chaired by Ji Zhijiang, Executive Vice Chairman of the Ecological and Environmental Building Materials Branch of the China Building Materials Federation.

Looking back, after roughly a decade of pioneering and relentless effort by industry professionals, the emerging eco‑friendly wall‑covering sector has grown from scratch to attain a substantial market scale, making a significant contribution to the nation’s pursuit of “healthy homes.” Looking ahead, this symposium will focus on key issues for the future: the next steps for “eco‑wall materials,” the sources of momentum and the obstacles they face, strategies for overcoming challenges through technological innovation and market expansion, and the broader trajectory of the industry.

At the seminar, Wang Wenli, Secretary-General of the China Non-Metallic Minerals Association, presented on “The Current State of the Non-Metallic Minerals Industry and Its Applications and Recommendations in the Field of Healthy Wall Materials”; Wang Jing, Secretary-General of the Ecological and Environmental Building Materials Branch of the China National Building Material Federation, spoke on “2019 Development of the Ecological and Healthy Wall Materials Industry and a Report on the Branch’s Work”; Huang Qiang, Deputy Chief Engineer of the China National Building Material Geological Engineering Exploration Research Institute Co., Ltd., addressed “An Overview of Japan’s Silas Resources and Their Development”; Zhang Jing, former Director of the Landscape Architecture Planning and Design Institute at the China Construction Decoration Group Design Research Institute, discussed “Blurring the Boundaries of Design”; Shui Mingqian, Director of the Beijing Design Institute of Zhejiang Yaxia Decoration Group, presented on “The Value of Design and the Application of Materials”; Professor Zhang Pengyi of the School of Environment at Tsinghua University spoke on “Research Progress in Indoor Formaldehyde‑Removal Materials”; Li Yi, Technical Engineer at WACKER Chemical (China) Co., Ltd., outlined “The Application of VINNAPAS 5544N in Diatom Mud”; Sun Songlin, General Manager of Jilin Songtai Environmental Protection Building New Materials Co., Ltd., shared “A Four-Year Report on End‑User Market Applications of Waterborne High‑Temperature Calcined Shell Powder Coatings”; Wu Shufeng, General Manager of Asia Zeolite Holdings Co., Ltd., addressed “Zeolites and Eco‑Friendly Building Materials”; Du Zhiguo, General Manager of Jilin Little Seagull Shell Building Materials Co., Ltd., discussed “The Beacon of the Shell Powder Industry: The Brand’s Journey Amidst Dynamic Changes”; Zhang Xiangting, Deputy General Manager of Jilin Yuantong Mining Co., Ltd., presented on “China’s Diatomaceous Earth Resources and Applications”; and Dr. Zhang Yanjun of the China Building Materials Science Research Institute delivered a paper titled “Research Progress in Testing Methods for the Air‑Purifying Performance of Coating Materials.” Each speaker drew upon their respective fields to deliver specialized research reports.
You speak in your dialect, and I take the stage—expert interpretations of science and its achievements, each brimming with a distinct scholarly flair—collectively imbuing the venue with an atmosphere of rapt attention and lively, thoughtful engagement.

Among them, Dr. Zhang Jinjun from the Building Materials Research Institute first presented a theoretical overview and then conducted an on-site demonstration of a new formaldehyde‑removal and detection device developed by the research team at the State Key Laboratory of Green Building Materials, sparking keen interest among the attendees, who enthusiastically gave it their thumbs up.

At the industry‑new‑product launch event, four handsome men took to the stage holding diatomaceous earth panels, while a hostess pressed her handprint on the spot to vividly demonstrate the material’s exceptional moisture‑absorption performance. The presentation created an energetic atmosphere, leaving attendees thoroughly impressed and inspired.
Meanwhile, several interactive sessions—featuring the unveiling of benchmark pricing for eco‑healthy wall‑material products, the awarding of “Shared Factory” plaques, and interviews with industry leaders—were chaired by Wang Jing, Secretary-General of the Ecological Environment Building Materials Branch of the China Building Materials Federation. These segments infused the conference’s rigorous academic atmosphere with a fresh, upbeat spirit, vividly embodying the core ethos of the 7th Symposium on the Development of the Eco‑Healthy Wall‑Material Industry: “Technological Innovation in Eco‑Friendly Building Materials, Market‑Driven Green Living.”

“Development is the fundamental principle; eco‑healthy wall materials are a sunrise industry that aligns with national industrial policies and benefits both the country and the people, with a bright and promising future that enhances the well-being of all.” This was the resounding keynote message that set the tone for this year’s symposium.
The chairman of chuanyi Enterprise attended by invitation.
