Glory to chuanyi, blooming across the nine provinces. In the crisp, clear skies of September, at the headquarters of chuanyi Diatom Mud (Qingdao), a momentous piece of good news has been announced: chuanyi Diatom Mud has successfully been selected for Qingdao Jiaodong International Airport, becoming the designated partner for the airport’s diatom mud wall‑covering project.
Qingdao Jiaodong International Airport is rated 4F—on par with Qingdao Liuting Airport, which is 4E—the highest operational category. It can accommodate the largest aircraft currently in service, such as the Airbus A380 and the Boeing 747‑800, and its rating is comparable to that of 11 other major airports, including Xi’an Xianyang International Airport, Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport, Kunming Changshui International Airport, Tianjin Binhai International Airport, Xiamen Xiang’an International Airport, Dalian Jinzhou Bay International Airport, and Guilin Liangjiang International Airport. The total investment for the project is approximately RMB 38.175 billion. Construction includes two parallel long‑distance runways, each 3,600 meters in length with a separation of 2,200 meters, and a terminal building spanning 450,000 square meters. With an estimated construction period of about four years, the airport will be capable of handling 35 million passenger trips, 500,000 tons of cargo and mail, and 300,000 aircraft movements annually. Looking ahead to 2045, the master plan calls for the addition of two short‑distance runways, each 3,200 meters long, along with a terminal expansion to 700,000 square meters, enabling annual capacity of 55 million passengers, 60 million passengers at peak times, 1 million tons of cargo and mail, and 450,000 aircraft movements.
